Do you think church greeters need training?
If you said no, check out the the first segment of this short video. It may challenge you to think again.
Even if some of the comments in the video are made up, they are not out of the realm of experience either.
Most of these observations have come across my twitter feed in the last few weeks.
In fact, each week allows me a good laugh as people share their hospitality experiences (both the good and the bad).
Are you a first time church greeter?
The second part of this brief training video for church greeters gives you 10 useful tips you can put into place right away.

Help.
I purchased the DVD set and I cannot download the handout to accompany it. Tried Google chrome and Internet explorer. What is the correct site to download this handout? Please send it to me asap, the http://ow.ly/( i am not putting in the rest as I assume you want folks to purchase this) does not work! I just get your newsletter information and sign up page.
Thank you!

I have sent those links to your email. What happened is that the links to our storage site changed their access rules and disbaled our links. The newly created ones didn’t make it into the insert in time.
That’s now been fixed and future orders will have working links.

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this, but I have just been asked to head up our Greeting team which in the past has basically consisted of me and a couple ushers handing out bulletins and greeting members/guests as they come in. We want to make this more of a ministry and I am realizing now it is so much more than just a smile and a bulletin. I have learned so much through these videos. Thank you Chris! So I am wondering about what you think about greeters wearing lanyards or name tags or something to identify them as” greeters” on their Sunday?
Robert Allen says
I agree that greeters need frequent training. I have some showing up late, talking to others when instead of focusing on people walking in, and some love to hug. It is a challenge, similar to herding cats…
